[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Park Gyeom-su, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, stated, "We will create a Cheongja Kiln experience space within the Uidong Camping Site and open a family camping site as a 1-night 2-day storytelling tourism course."
In his 2021 New Year's address, Mayor Park said, "As a result of the Bukhansan Historical and Cultural Tourism Belt project pursued over the past 10 years, we will create a Cheongja Kiln experience space within the Uidong Camping Site and open a family camping site as a 1-night 2-day storytelling tourism course. We will also open a mountain exhibition experience center, an international-scale artificial rock climbing wall, and a Jindallae urban agriculture experience center."
He continued, "I would like to express my gratitude and respect to all the residents who have supported us generously during the difficult year due to COVID-19. I am confident that the new year will be a year when all residents can overcome any difficulties together. The district is making every effort to prevent the spread of community infections through more precise quarantine measures as COVID-19 continues. In the new year, we will prioritize the health and safety of residents and do our best to ensure that public services continue without interruption."
He added, "The year 2021 is an important year when the results of major projects of the 7th elected administration will gradually unfold. We will devote all administrative power to provide a richer living environment that residents can feel and realize, to realize a historical and cultural tourism city, and to revitalize the grassroots economy."
Mayor Park said, "Urban regeneration projects are actively underway in Suyu 1-dong and the 4.19 Intersection area in Insu-dong, with resident-centered managed residential environment improvement projects steadily progressing. We will become a central city in northeastern Seoul through district unit planning and redevelopment in the future."
He also mentioned that the 4.19 Intersection area will be regenerated as a ‘historical, cultural, and artistic specialized street,’ improving accessibility and convenience for visitors. The nationwide patriotic event, the 4.19 Revolution Cultural Festival, will be prepared with more diverse programs so that the entire nation can enjoy it together.
