[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced on the 29th that it was selected as the recipient of the ‘Excellence Award’ in the small and medium-sized bank category for supporting small and medium enterprises at the ‘2020 Inclusive Finance Meritorious Institution Awards’ hosted by the Financial Supervisory Service.
The 2020 Inclusive Finance Meritorious Institution Awards recognize financial companies and outstanding contributors who have shown excellent performance in inclusive finance. This year, considering the COVID-19 situation, the awards ceremony was conducted through a prize delivery method.
BNK Gyeongnam Bank was recognized for its achievements in resolving funding difficulties for small and medium enterprises by expanding SME loan supply, discovering and supporting promising SMEs with growth potential in the region through the activation of relational finance. It also received favorable reviews for contributing to the activation of Individual Business Loan 119. This year, BNK Gyeongnam Bank’s SME loan balance reached 19.775 trillion KRW, recording an increase rate of 8.27% (1.5109 trillion KRW) compared to 2019.
