POSCO Energy Becomes Santa for Children at Local Community Centers
Delivering Christmas Gifts to Incheon Regional Children's Centers to Practice Corporate Citizenship Management Philosophy
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] POSCO Energy transformed into Santa Claus ahead of Christmas.
POSCO Energy gifted a warm Christmas to children at seven local community child centers near Seo-gu, Incheon, where the LNG combined power plant is located. POSCO Energy received wish lists from the children at the community centers and prepared customized gifts such as winter coats, sneakers, and school supplies, delivering Christmas presents to about 50 children.
This gift is especially meaningful as it was prepared by donating the entire prize money of 3 million KRW received from winning the 'Excellent Company for Work Culture Innovation' award (Minister of Employment and Labor Award) hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor last November. In April, POSCO Energy also conducted a 'Closing the Distance of Hearts' comment campaign to promote internal communication. Using the 'With (Value & Together)' fund raised through the campaign, they surprised children exhausted by COVID-19 by transforming into one-day Santas and delivered books and snacks as an 'April Christmas' gift.
Additionally, POSCO Energy celebrated the first anniversary of nine new employees with a doljanchi (first birthday party), practicing the management philosophy of 'Corporate Citizenship Growing Together' and fostering a warm organizational culture. Considering social distancing, the doljanchi was held simply as a CEO meeting, where new employees shared their first-year impressions and selected their favorite songs to listen to and discuss together. Along with rice cake, CEO-recommended books and pens engraved with the new employees' English initials were given as dol gifts, adding significance to the event.
