Nowon-gu Seoul National University of Science and Technology Temporary Screening Clinic to Operate Drive-Thru Method Concurrently
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) is implementing a drive-thru method for COVID-19 testing.
The drive-thru testing, operated in cooperation with Seoul National University of Science and Technology located in Gongneung-dong, will be set up in front of the university gymnasium.
With 44 support staff including 4 medical personnel working in two shifts daily, individuals can undergo screening, temperature checks, and specimen collection while remaining inside their vehicles, minimizing contact with others and providing a convenient testing method even in cold weather.
Testing hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, including weekends.
Testing will not be available on January 1st, the first day of the new year, due to school circumstances.
Residents wishing to be tested by car can enter through the Changui Gate, the back gate of Seoul National University of Science and Technology, and follow the guidance of Nowon-gu office staff to receive testing.
Wearing a mask inside the vehicle is mandatory.
However, confirmed patients’ family members, contacts, self-quarantined individuals, and symptomatic persons must visit the Nowon-gu Public Health Center.
On the first day of operation of the university’s temporary screening clinic on the 26th, residents who learned about it via text messages showed great interest, with about 70 vehicles waiting an hour before the start of operations.
The district opened the entrance in two stages from 9 a.m. to facilitate surrounding traffic, and over 200 vehicles visited and completed testing that morning alone.
Currently, Nowon-gu operates screening clinics at the Nowon-gu Public Health Center, the new building parking lot of Nowon-gu Office, and the Nowon Community Center, with testing available daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
