Minke Whale Found Dead Off Yeongdeok Coast... Traded for 33 Million Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Hana Na] A mink whale was found dead, entangled in a net, off the coast of Chuksan, Yeongdeok, Gyeongbuk.
According to Uljin Coast Guard on the 25th, at around 4:10 a.m., the captain of fishing vessel A discovered a dead mink whale entangled in a net line about 5 km southeast of Chuksan Port, Yeongdeok-gun, while hauling in the net, and reported it to the police station.
After examining the mink whale's skin and appearance, the coast guard found no evidence of illegal capture and issued a whale processing confirmation certificate to the captain of vessel A.
The mink whale measured 4.8 meters in length and 2.2 meters in girth, and it was reported to have been dead for more than two weeks.
