Export-Import Bank Donates 350 Million KRW to Support Jobs for Social Enterprises and Vulnerable Groups

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] The Export-Import Bank of Korea announced on the 23rd that it has donated a total of 350 million KRW to the Band Foundation to foster social enterprises and create jobs for vulnerable groups.
On the same day, Bank President Moon Kyoo Bang met with Ha Jeong-eun, Chairperson of the Band Foundation, at the Yeouido headquarters to deliver the donation.
Of the donation, 200 million KRW will be used as business funds for 12 social enterprises that employ marriage migrant women or engage in fair trade businesses.
The remaining 150 million KRW will be used for salaries and workforce training expenses for 20 new social members, including marriage migrant women and North Korean defectors.
After delivering the donation, President Bang said, "I understand that social enterprises and vulnerable groups are facing great difficulties due to COVID-19," adding, "As a policy financial institution, the Export-Import Bank of Korea will continue to pay attention and make efforts so that they do not lose hope."

Meanwhile, since 2016, the bank has donated a total of 1.38 billion KRW to 41 social enterprises and 107 vulnerable individuals up to this year.
