According to China News on the 22nd (local time), Feng Zijian, Deputy Director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said, "The variant COVID-19 virus spreading in the UK has not yet been found within China," adding, "We will closely monitor the COVID-19 virus situation."
He continued, "We need to keep an eye on the infection situation of variant COVID-19 viruses worldwide, including the UK and Europe," and praised China's effective response through measures such as strengthening quarantine of imported frozen foods over the past few months.
Deputy Director Feng explained that to prevent the variant COVID-19 virus from entering China, measures such as quarantine and disinfection of imported frozen foods, installation of separate warehouses, and nucleic acid testing for related personnel have been strengthened.
