Police Send Physical Education Professor to Prosecution with 'Bribery' Charges Over Training Fees
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A professor at a sports university who received tens of millions of won in bribes from parents in exchange for helping high school students participate in training camps to aid their college entrance was handed over to the prosecution.
On the 22nd, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced that it had sent Professor A, who majors in cycling at Korea National Sport University and is suspected of accepting bribes, to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.
Professor A is accused of receiving a total of about 60 million won from more than 30 high school parents between 2014 and last year, under the pretext of training fees ranging from 1 to 2 million won.

The police also sent three parents who collected and delivered the money along with Professor A, suspected of offering bribes, to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.
