Hapcheon-gun Supports Garlic Auction Fees at Agricultural Produce Wholesale Market
Supporting Farmers with the Highest Sales Amount up to 8.2 Million KRW Commission
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 22nd that it allocated a budget of 700 million KRW to partially pay garlic auction fees for farmers who shipped garlic using the local mountain produce market.
This year, the price of dried garlic rose to a highest price of 92,400 KRW and an average price of 79,159 KRW per 20kg/net, an increase of 76% compared to the previous year.
Among the farmers who shipped using the local mountain produce market, the farmer with the highest sales amount will receive a maximum commission support of 8.2 million KRW.
Hapcheon Distribution and Hapcheon Dongbu Nonghyup, which operate the mountain produce market, actively utilized a shipment reservation system to reduce farmers' waiting time and alleviate vehicle congestion.
They achieved concrete results such as auction performance of 6,460 tons of garlic, a 132% increase compared to the previous year, amounting to 22.8 billion KRW.
