Daegu is the location of Samsung Sanghoe, established by Samsung founder Lee Byung-chul. Chairman Lee Kun-hee was also born and spent his childhood at the founder Lee Byung-chul's old residence about 200 meters away from Samsung Sanghoe. Residents near Samsung Sanghoe voluntarily held a memorial service for Chairman Lee at the old site of Samsung Sanghoe during his funeral period at the end of last October.
Before the Startup Awards event, President No visited Samsung Sanghoe in person and said, "I sincerely thank the citizens of Daegu for their condolences."
