GS25 Launches 'Handmade Strawberry Jam Kit'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] GS25 announced on the 21st that it will launch a ‘Handmade Strawberry Jam Kit’.
The ‘Handmade Strawberry Jam Kit’ includes strawberries, sugar, disposable containers needed for making, storage glass jars, instructions for making, and decorative stickers to adorn the jars, allowing customers to make their own handmade strawberry jam without purchasing any additional ingredients. The price is 9,900 KRW.
Additionally, the strawberries in the ‘Handmade Strawberry Jam Kit’ utilize misshapen strawberries that have high sugar content but are difficult to commercialize. These misshapen strawberries are generally hard to sell through regular distribution channels and have mainly been sold for juice products, but this kit actively uses them, also contributing to supporting the farmers who cultivate them.
To offer a unique eating experience during strawberry season, GS25 also introduced ‘Fresh Special Kingsberry’ and ‘Fresh Special Kingsberry’. Kingsberry strawberries are larger than regular strawberries, weighing 2 to 3 times more, are juicy, and have a peach-like aroma, making them a popular strawberry variety among customers in recent years.
At the supermarket GS THE FRESH, the Handmade Strawberry Jam Kit will be available for pre-order at a special price through the GS THE POP app from the 23rd to the 29th in limited quantities.

Kim Kyunghoon, GS Retail’s fruit MD, said, “We planned this strawberry jam kit to provide fun and memories using seasonal fruit, anticipating that many customers feel bored as they spend more time at home. Although it is difficult for many, we hope that understanding the difficulties faced by the producing farmers will lead to increased consumption.”
