The 166th confirmed patient on the 20th is a student at Naenam Elementary School and attends the same school as the 159th confirmed patient from the 'Naenam-myeon Family Gathering.' The 167th confirmed patient in their 40s is a private tutor of the 158th confirmed patient (the eldest son of the rice cake shop owner).
The confirmed patient who died on the 20th was a nurse assistant in her 30s who was transferred to Dongguk University Gyeongju Hospital with pneumonia symptoms and then confirmed positive (Gyeongju 154).
This woman tested negative twice for COVID-19 before hospitalization on the 4th and 10th. As her pneumonia symptoms worsened, she was moved to the national isolation ward at Dongguk University Hospital, where she tested positive.
She reportedly was admitted to a hospital in the city on the 11th due to severe abdominal pain and headache symptoms starting from the 5th, and was transferred to Dongguk University Hospital in critical condition. With this, the number of citizens who have died from COVID-19 in Gyeongju has increased to four.
