[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] Mysterious metal pillars previously found in the United States, Romania, and the United Kingdom have now been discovered in New Zealand. Netizens are reacting with various opinions, including "the work of aliens" and "a form of promotional marketing."
On the 20th, New Zealand media reported that a mysterious metal pillar of unknown origin was found at the 'Christchurch Adventure Park' in Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand.
At noon on the same day (local time), the Adventure Park also posted a message along with photos saying, "Does anyone know what this is and where it came from? We really have no idea."
The uploaded photos show a triangular metal pillar about 3 meters tall and 40 to 50 cm wide on one side.
Following discoveries in the United States, Romania, and the United Kingdom, the appearance of an unidentified metal pillar in New Zealand sparked various reactions among netizens.
One netizen suggested, "Kick it to see if aliens come out," while another said, "I wonder where it will appear next. It's cool."
Some expressed suspicion, saying, "It looks like a marketing trick. There seems to be commercial intent in the background."
Meanwhile, opinions were also raised that the shape of this metal pillar is similar to those found last month in Utah, USA, and earlier this month in Romania. Similar-shaped metal pillars recently discovered in various parts of the world have been repeatedly found regardless of location, but some were revealed to be promotional event items.
However, Cam Hill, the event manager at the Adventure Park, responded, "This is not a marketing stunt. Everyone is baffled because no one knows what it is."
He added, "The staff locked up as usual last night and went home, but when they came in the morning, there it was near the top of the hill. It's difficult but not impossible to walk there. However, no staff member was involved in erecting the metal pillar."
He further stated, "No one knows how the metal pillar ended up here."
