Confirmed COVID-19 Patient Waiting for Hospital Bed Dies in Seoul
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] A patient who was diagnosed with COVID-19 in Seoul and was under home quarantine has died.
According to authorities on the 20th, a report was received that a man in his 60s, Mr. A, who was confirmed positive for COVID-19 and under self-quarantine in Guro-gu, Seoul, died around 10 p.m. the previous day.
Mr. A had been under self-quarantine after a friend he had recently dined with tested positive for COVID-19. He was tested at a screening clinic on the 17th and confirmed positive on the 19th.
He was waiting for hospitalization at home due to the lack of available hospital beds and was found unconscious by his family.
Health authorities are investigating whether Mr. A had any underlying conditions.
