Former President Lee Myung-bak Detained at Dongbu Detention Center... COVID-19 Cluster Infection of 184 Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Ji-hwan] A COVID-19 outbreak has occurred at the Seoul Eastern Detention Center, where former President Lee Myung-bak is incarcerated.
According to health authorities and the legal community on the 19th, the Seoul Eastern Detention Center conducted COVID-19 tests on all 2,400 inmates the previous day. Among them, a total of 184 tested positive. Former President Lee is reported to have tested negative.
On the 15th, 14 staff members at the Seoul Eastern Detention Center also tested positive for COVID-19. The confirmed cases were mainly from the new inmate housing unit.
