[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 18th that it has carried out the 2021 department head personnel appointments to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) crisis and support digital innovation for the innovative growth of small and medium enterprises and regional industries.
Previously, SBC reorganized its organization to strengthen inter-departmental cooperation systems for building a company-wide response system centered on policy objectives suitable for the post-COVID era, and to promote innovative growth of small and medium enterprises and achieve regional-level results through relay support.
This personnel appointment is a follow-up measure to the organizational restructuring, focusing on enhancing SBC’s three major innovation driving forces: digital transformation, regional industry innovation, and strengthening social safety nets. Competent and outstanding talents with job expertise and innovative performance-driving capabilities to create high performance were selected and assigned.
In particular, the headquarters significantly expanded the proportion of young and innovative level 2~3 department heads to over 80%, creating momentum for dynamic project implementation. A level 2 department head who innovated the online export business into a non-face-to-face method was appointed as the head of the Corporate Finance Division, which oversees policy fund support. For the newly established Regional Industry Innovation Division, responsible for new projects related to regulatory free zones and regional industry innovation, a level 1 department head with extensive experience in key headquarters departments and fieldwork, equipped with planning skills, execution ability, and communication competence, was appointed.
Additionally, to achieve differentiated operational performance in non-face-to-face businesses and performance-centered overseas base management, a level 2 department head with a global mindset and expertise was appointed as the head of the Global Business Division. In the regions, field experts with experience and capabilities were deployed forward to promote field-centered regional innovation, including overcoming the COVID-19 crisis, customized linkage support by region and industry, and improving convenience for policy demanders.
