View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Chungcheongnam-do is taking steps to establish a cooperative system to promote a culture of win-win cooperation and mutual growth among economic entities.
On the 17th, Chungcheongnam-do announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) titled ‘Agreement to Promote Chungnam Economic Win-Win Cooperation’ together with the Win-Win Growth Committee, Korea Western Power, Korea Eastern Power, Hanwha Total, Hyundai Motor Company, and Samsung Display.
According to this agreement, the province and each institution agreed to jointly promote win-win cooperation activities to spread the culture of mutual growth within the province and to mutually strive for cooperative relationships such as information exchange.
The signing ceremony was attended by Yang Seung-jo, Governor of Chungnam, Kwon Ki-hong, Chairman of the Win-Win Growth Committee, Kim Byung-sook, President of Korea Western Power, Park Hyung-gu, President of Korea Eastern Power, Kang Ho-gyun, Executive Director of Hanwha Total, Song Kwang-soo, Executive Director of Hyundai Motor Asan Plant, and Lee Ki-seung, Executive Director of Samsung Display.
These institutions plan to participate in the Chungnam Win-Win Cooperation Committee while discovering best practices in win-win cooperation and providing incentives to outstanding companies. Furthermore, they will introduce a win-win growth support system to spread the culture and share information jointly on win-win growth issues.
Kim Seok-pil, Director of the Economic Office of Chungnam Province, stated in the report on ‘Chungnam Economic Win-Win Cooperation Direction and Vision,’ “Due to COVID-19 and the slowdown in economic growth rates, it is necessary to create an economic atmosphere of coexistence and mutual growth.” He added, “We plan to expand the scope to the entire regional economy, establish a bottom-up policy delivery system led by the region and residents, and select and promote four major strategies and 18 core tasks.”
Meanwhile, alongside the signing ceremony, an online purchasing consultation meeting for large and small and medium enterprises in the fields of materials, parts, equipment (SoBuJang), and distribution was held non-face-to-face.
The consultation meeting involved 35 large companies and public institutions such as Samsung, LG, SK, Lotte, and POSCO, and 89 small and medium enterprises (including 40 from the province), conducting one-on-one video consultations to share market development and technology development.
The province and the Win-Win Growth Committee plan to continuously support additional one-on-one consultations and online purchasing consultation meetings upon requests from small and medium enterprises to achieve practical results from the consultations.

Yang Seung-jo, Governor of Chungnam Province, said, “As public institutions and local companies strive to support the local community and revitalize the economy, local governments must also provide various supports.” He added, “We will continue to pay attention to making Chungnam a good place for business management and enabling large and small companies to coexist.”
