Daegu City Appoints Park Sang-cheol, Adjunct Professor at Kyungpook National University, as Inaugural CEO of Daegu Tourism Foundation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City announced on the 15th that Park Sang-chul (58), a professor advisor of the Tourism Industry Headquarters at the Korea Tourism Organization, has been appointed as the first CEO of the Daegu Tourism Foundation, scheduled to launch next year.
Appointee Park Sang-chul graduated from Hanyang University Graduate School (International Tourism Policy) and worked for 34 years at the Korea Tourism Organization, serving as the head of the Hong Kong branch, marketing director of Busan Tourism Organization, head of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk branch, and adjunct professor at the Department of Ecological Environmental Tourism at Kyungpook National University.
Park was evaluated with the highest score through the Daegu Tourism Foundation Executive Recommendation Committee held from October to November, passing the first document screening, PT presentation, and Q&A, as well as the second interview, assessing expertise, organizational leadership, labor-management and employee friendliness, responsibility as a top executive, and integrity.

The term of office for the CEO of the Daegu Tourism Foundation is three years. Park is expected to officially start his duties in January next year after the inaugural general meeting and corporate registration are completed.
