Seoul Jung-gu Recognized for Consecutive Achievements in Various 2020 Seoul City Policy Evaluations... Excellence in Shared Land Division and Land & Cadastral Management Evaluations
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) has been recognized as a well-performing autonomous district in various fields, including being selected as an excellent district by consecutively winning awards in the 2020 Seoul City policy evaluation.
First, in the fields of 'Shared Land Division Task Promotion Evaluation' and 'Land and Cadastral Management Task Evaluation.'
These fields mainly evaluate efforts to realize field-centered policies involving citizens, such as excellent cases and work improvement measures, and Jung-gu earned the title of excellent district in these two areas.
The 'Shared Land Division Task Promotion Evaluation' is related to the operation of the 'Special Act on Shared Land Division,' which was temporarily implemented for eight years from 2012. Jung-gu received high marks for active administration and work improvements to allow more residents to benefit, including ▲forming a promotion T/F team, promoting with advanced unmanned aerial vehicle drones, and producing UCC videos for publicity ▲collaborating with the Supreme Court to organize ownership information of about 40 traditional market plots, including Bangsan Market, involving approximately 13,000 collective shared landowners ▲providing customized text message services guiding the processing and procedures of shared land division.
In the 'Land and Cadastral Management Task Evaluation,' Jung-gu was selected as an excellent district for ▲providing a non-face-to-face real estate information search service using QR codes to find ancestral land to prevent the spread of COVID-19 ▲building a high-resolution color database from old black-and-white land register electronic data to advance old land register civil service without budget ▲exchanging and merging district-owned land in Namsangol Hanok Village and city-owned land in Gwanghui-dong Resident Center, minimizing the number of plots, consolidating scattered public properties, and unifying them, thereby realizing citizen-centered policies and improving land use efficiency.
A Jung-gu Land Management Department official stated that in 2021, they will continue to enhance civil service convenience through proactive civil complaint administration, actively promote policies for efficient land use and management, do their best to protect residents' property rights, and carry out transparent and fair cadastral administration.
Next is the selection as an excellent district in the 'Outdoor Advertising Quality Improvement Evaluation' section.
Efforts such as ▲conducting a full survey of protruding signs ▲weekend maintenance to achieve zero banners ▲cleaning illegal advertisements around Sejong-daero related to the 'Seoullo Luci Light Festival' and promoting a sign improvement project replacing old signs ▲and maintaining about 970,000 advertisements over the past year played a major role in the excellent district selection.
In particular, Mayor Seoyangho of Jung-gu personally walks to work, takes photos of illegal advertisements and piled-up items in every corner of the neighborhood, shares them with staff, and works together to resolve issues, contributing to making Jung-gu pleasant and clean.
The environmental sector is also not left out. The district won the Excellence Award in the private-led category and the Encouragement Award in the public-private cooperation category at the Green City Seoul Awards hosted by Seoul City.
Especially, the creation of a rose flowerbed to solve the illegal motorcycle parking problem in Hwanghak-dong and the establishment of a park in the alley of the textile section of Hwanghak-dong Jungang Market received great response from nearby residents and won the Encouragement Award in the public-private cooperation category.
The garden of Naewae Building, which won the Excellence Award in the private-led category, provides a bright and positive green-friendly resting place in a location with heavy foot traffic, comforting the mind and body tired from urban life and allowing visitors to trace back joyful and beautiful childhood memories, receiving high praise for realizing the building’s public value.
