Seodaemun-gu Hosts 'Cheonyeon Chunghyun Urban Regeneration Resident-Led Project Performance Sharing Meeting'
Through a public contest in March this year, 9 teams engaged in community revitalization and alley environment improvement activities... Non-face-to-face performance sharing meeting to be held on the 17th from 2 to 3 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) will hold a non-face-to-face 'Cheonyeonchunghyeon Urban Regeneration Resident-led Project' performance sharing meeting on the 17th from 2 PM to 3 PM.
The district has been promoting this project since March this year through a public contest to increase resident participation in 'Cheonyeonchunghyeon Urban Regeneration' by discovering and revitalizing communities.
The nine selected teams achieved various results throughout the year despite social distancing, including alley environment improvement, resource recycling, sharing, and cultural activities.
The 'Dongnimmun-ro 12-gil Residents' Group' carried out activities for alley environment improvement and recycling separation. Residents collected washed transparent PET bottles, milk cartons, and cans, and exchanged them for tissue paper and volume-based waste bags in a total of six sessions.
The 'Cheonyeonsaem Residents Network Team' held meetings 2 to 3 times a month from April to September for environmental improvement, installing flower beds on the alley walls behind Yeongcheon Market. The 'Cheonyeon Ongdalsaem Team' conducted an environmental challenge to reduce waste and held an exhibition of eco-friendly recycled products.
The 'Su(燧)mera Team' held the 'These Days in Seoul, Old Times, Cheonyeonchunghyeon Photo Exhibition' in October and also produced a photo book. They showcased works themed on the people of Cheonyeonchunghyeon, traces of history, residential buildings, Tteok Alley, and Yeongcheon Market, receiving positive responses from visitors.
The 'Yeongcheon Market Women's Association' shared kimchi with about 100 low-income vulnerable neighbors, and the 'Dreaming Baking Team,' composed mainly of parents from Geumhwa Elementary School, developed and shared customized lunchboxes for local seniors and children.
The 'Cheonyeonchunghyeon Petit Embroidery Team' embroidered baby items such as diapers and gauze towels and delivered them to the Salvation Army Doori Home in Cheonyeon-dong.
The 'Dongnimmun Yeongcheon Market Choir' practiced choreography and choir performances to present a show, and 'Cheonchung Sarangin' produced promotional materials containing local stories and urban regeneration narratives.
At the performance sharing meeting, members of the Cheonyeonchunghyeon Urban Regeneration Residents' Council, Cheonyeonchunghyeon Urban Regeneration Support Center, and Seodaemun-gu Office officials will attend to share resident-led projects and discuss next year's project directions.
Real-time participation is possible by accessing the Cheonyeonchunghyeon Urban Regeneration Support Center band, and the performance sharing meeting video can also be viewed later on the YouTube channel 'Cheonyeonchunghyeon Urban Regeneration Support Center.'
