Yeongdeungpo-gu Opens Two Temporary Screening Clinics
Adding 2 Screening Clinics to Existing 4 for Full COVID-19 Response... Operating Weekdays 9 AM-6 PM, Weekends 9 AM-3 PM Until January 3 Next Year... Anonymous Testing Regardless of Symptoms
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) will install and temporarily operate two temporary screening clinics starting from the 15th to respond to the recent surge in community COVID-19 spread.
The district aims to disperse the testing demand from the currently operating district public health center screening clinic and three private medical institutions, preventing crowding by installing temporary screening clinics, thereby maximizing the prevention of community COVID-19 spread through rapid testing and response.
The temporary screening clinics will be set up at two locations: the parking lot of Dorim-dong Badminton Gymnasium and Yeouido 3rd Parking Lot under the southern end of Seogang Bridge. They will operate on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the operation period lasting until January 3 of next year.
Anyone in the district can get tested anonymously at these sites. Only minimal information such as mobile phone number, body temperature, age, and self-reported symptom information needs to be submitted. Testing is available regardless of symptoms or contact with confirmed cases.
In addition to the highly accurate existing testing method, the ‘nasopharyngeal swab PCR test’ (where testing equipment is inserted into the nose and throat to collect specimens for PCR-based confirmation), ‘saliva PCR test’ using saliva, and ‘rapid antigen test’ will also be conducted.
In particular, the rapid antigen test method can determine confirmation within at least 30 minutes on-site, and will be used when quick confirmation is needed for test subjects showing COVID-19 related symptoms.
During the rapid antigen test, the testee waits on-site after the test; if positive, they will receive an individual nasopharyngeal swab test at the temporary screening clinic and be transported and isolated as a confirmed case.
Meanwhile, the screening clinics operated by the district include the district public health center and three private medical institutions: ▲Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital ▲Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital ▲Sungae Hospital. Until January 3 next year, two temporary screening clinics will be added, making a total of six screening clinics in operation.
