Husband Creates Fake Debt to Avoid Giving Property to Wife Who Wants a Divorce
Husband Accused of Forced Execution Evasion Sentenced to 6 Months in Prison with 2-Year Probation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A husband who fabricated documents to appear as if he had debts in order not to give property to his wife demanding a divorce was sentenced to a suspended prison term.
The Ulsan District Court Criminal Division 2 announced on the 10th that it sentenced A and B, who were tried for the charge of evading compulsory execution, to six months in prison with a two-year suspension each.
In March of last year, A got into a fight with his wife over his frequent affairs and ended up assaulting her.
When his wife demanded a divorce and 200 million won in alimony, husband A became worried that he would have to divide his property once the lawsuit began.
Accordingly, A set a mortgage on land he owned to make it appear as if he owed a debt to his older sister B.
