Nonghyup Distribution Hanaro Mart Sells 'Poinsettia' for Christmas Decorations
Domestic Variety Red Pearl
High Space Efficiency Increases Usability
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Nonghyup Distribution, which operates Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, a specialty agricultural and food store, announced on the 10th that it will sell domestically grown poinsettias (variety Red Pearl) to support flower farmers about two weeks before Christmas.
'Poinsettia' is widely known as a traditional Christmas decorative flower in the United States and Europe. Its leaves beautifully change color as daylight shortens and temperatures drop, increasing its ornamental value, and it blooms in December, the month of Christmas. Recently, with the increase in single-person and two-person households, consumption is rising as poinsettias take up less space and are more affordable compared to Christmas trees.
'Yulma' is popular as a mini tree because it resembles a tree and is small in size, making it easy for anyone to decorate a Christmas tree. It is also known as an air-purifying plant and is popular on social networking services (SNS) as well.
