Hyundai Oilbank, First Refinery to Surpass '20 Million Injury-Free Man-Hours'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] Hyundai Oilbank announced on the 10th that it has become the first refining company to surpass '20 million injury-free man-hours.'
Hyundai Oilbank's injury-free continuous period, which began in October 2013, has now exceeded 7 years. This is a rare case not only domestically but also overseas.
Since achieving 10 million injury-free man-hours for the first time in the company's history in September 2017, it has continued to set an unprecedented injury-free record up to 20 million man-hours.
Except for Hyundai Oilbank, no refining company has yet reached 10 million injury-free man-hours.
Considering that refining companies usually take about 100 days to reach 1 million man-hours, Hyundai Oilbank's 20 million injury-free man-hours is expected to be a record difficult to break for some time.
'Man-hour' is a concept that accumulates the working hours of plant operators. One person working for one hour is counted as '1 man-hour.'
'Injury-free man-hours' serve as a gauge of how safely an oil refinery is being operated.
This year, the significance is even greater as the company carried out the largest-ever scheduled maintenance in the second quarter and is in the midst of constructing an olefin production plant worth 2.7 trillion won, all while maintaining injury-free operations.
