Four Companies Including WYSIWYG Studio Selected as Sports-Friendly Excellent Companies
Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Sports Promotion Foundation Introduce Sports-Friendly Company Index for the First Time This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 10th that, together with the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, it has developed the 'Sports-Friendly Company Index' for the first time this year and selected four companies as excellent sports-friendly companies based on this index: WYSIWYG Studio, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Samsung Life Insurance, and Korea Aerospace Industries.
The 'Sports-Friendly Company Index' is an index developed in August this year to measure the level of sports-friendly culture within companies, aiming to promote employees' health improvement and activate participation in recreational sports.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation conducted a self-diagnosis survey (a total of 80 items) and converted the scores obtained in each measurement area into a total score out of 100 for 32 companies that applied through a public contest in October. Based on this, WYSIWYG Studio was selected as the top company, and the excellent companies by category were Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (public institution category), Samsung Life Insurance (large enterprise category), and Korea Aerospace Industries (mid-sized and small enterprise category). The top company will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award and a prize of 2 million KRW, while the three excellent companies will each receive the Foundation Chairman's Award and a prize of 1 million KRW.
WYSIWYG Studio, a company that plans and produces content based on video technology, promotes sports-friendly policies as part of its welfare system due to the nature of the company with many night shifts. It operates a separate sports space of about 100 pyeong equipped with futsal, basketball, and dodgeball courts, and supports the use of local gyms and indoor golf practice rooms. In addition, it separately allocates budgets for sports program operation and club support to assist employees' sports activities.
