Shinhan Financial Group Achieves Highest Grade for 7 Consecutive Years in CDP Evaluation, First Among Domestic Financial Groups
2020 CDP Evaluation, Achieved Leadership A in 'Climate Change Sector' Highest Grade
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Shinhan Financial Group announced that it has achieved the highest Leadership A rating for seven consecutive years in the 'CDP Climate Change' category announced by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), becoming the first domestic financial group to do so.
CDP is an organization established to request the disclosure of management information related to the environment, such as climate change response, from major listed and unlisted companies in various countries on behalf of global financial and investment institutions, and to analyze and evaluate this information to provide it to investors and financial institutions.
The report published annually by CDP is used as a guideline for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investment decisions and is regarded as one of the most reliable global sustainability indicators alongside the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and the Global 100 Sustainable Corporations.
Based on the CDP report released last April, Shinhan Financial Group has been selected for the 'Carbon Management Honors Club' announced annually by the CDP Korea Committee for six consecutive years, and it became the first in the domestic financial sector to enter the 'CDP Hall of Fame' for two consecutive years.
