Daedong Hospital Receives Commendation for Excellence in 3rd Cycle Medical Institution Accreditation Evaluation

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Daedong Hospital (Director Park Kyung-hwan) held an award ceremony for outstanding achievements in the 3rd cycle medical institution accreditation evaluation of Daedong Hospital 2020 at 8 a.m. on the 8th in the auditorium on the 10th floor of Daedong Hospital.
This event was attended only by the awardees and a minimum number of personnel to prevent COVID-19 infection and ensure staff safety.
The medical institution accreditation system, led by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, is a system that induces voluntary and continuous efforts by medical institutions to improve medical quality and patient safety.
It grants a certification mark valid for four years to medical institutions that achieve a certain level of standards composed of four areas: ▲Basic Value System ▲Performance Management System ▲Patient Care System ▲Organizational Management System.
Daedong Hospital underwent the 3rd cycle accreditation evaluation for four days starting November 24 last year and received a favorable evaluation.
This commendation was decided through deliberation after receiving recommendations for personnel who made significant contributions to preparing for the accreditation evaluation in each department. Seven individuals and five departments were honored. The individual awardees are ▲Son Byung-hee, Head of Education and Training, Department of Pediatrics, Medical Department ▲Kim Young-jun, Manager, Orthopedics ▲Hwang Bo-eun, Nurse, Ward 71, Nursing Department ▲Cheon Hye-young, Radiologist, Radiology Team, Medical Support Department ▲Tae Hyun-jung, Assistant Manager, Medical Information Team, Administration Department ▲Kim Jae-hwan, Staff, Management Support Team, Management Support Department ▲Park Sung-wook, Chief, Planning and Public Relations Team, Administrative Office.
The outstanding departments selected were ▲Endoscopy Center, Nursing Department (Head Nurse Kim Won-jung) ▲Appropriate Management Office, Medical Quality Improvement Headquarters (Director Kim Soo-hyung) ▲Administration Team, Administration Department (Team Leader Lee Jin-hyung) ▲Diagnostic Laboratory Medicine Team, Medical Support Department (Team Leader Jung Ha-jin) ▲Asset Management Operations Team, Management Support Department (Manager Jo Young-kyung). The selected departments and employees received certificates of commendation and prize money.
Director Park Kyung-hwan said in his encouragement speech, “The medical institution accreditation evaluation is the most important evaluation conducted in the hospital, demonstrating the results of all staff’s efforts to improve medical quality and patient safety,” adding, “This commendation was held to comfort the dedication of departments and employees who made great contributions during the medical institution accreditation evaluation process.”

Kim Soo-hyung, Director of the Appropriate Management Office (specialist in cardiology), who led and prepared the 3rd cycle medical institution accreditation evaluation at Daedong Hospital, said, “Although 2020 was a year with high work fatigue from screening clinics to public relief hospitals due to COVID-19, we were able to safely complete the 3rd cycle accreditation evaluation because all staff were united,” and added, “We will always prioritize patient safety and devote ourselves to creating a trusted hospital by providing high-quality medical care and services.”
