According to Muan County on the 8th, Park Sung-gi, a senior official from the Environment Division, along with coach Lee Seung-hyun and athletes from the Modern Pentathlon team of the Jeollanam-do Sports Marketing Division, saved the precious life of an 80-year-old senior who collapsed due to traumatic brain hemorrhage on the bicycle path next to the waterfront park in Mokpo on the 23rd of last month.
This fact became known after a post titled "Thank you to those who helped my father who collapsed due to traumatic brain hemorrhage" was uploaded on the Jeonnam Provincial Government website’s ‘Hidden Good Deeds in Our Neighborhood’ on the 24th of last month.
The post, written by the son who runs an internal medicine clinic in Mokpo, explained the urgent situation at the time: "My father suddenly fell while walking for exercise and lost consciousness due to brain hemorrhage. People who were nearby rushed over, provided emergency measures, and contacted 119."
He added, "The accident location was difficult for the 119 ambulance to reach quickly, so it took some time, but those who were with my father reassured my mother while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. I am very grateful to Park Sung-gi from the Environment Division of Muan County Office, Coach Lee Seung-hyun and the athletes from the Modern Pentathlon team of the Jeonnam Sports Marketing Division, and the 119 emergency personnel who came to the difficult location and provided emergency transport."
Senior official Park Sung-gi said, "The situation was urgent at the time, and I only thought about saving the senior. Anyone would have acted the same way," adding, "I hope the senior recovers quickly from the injury and regains health."
