Hankook Tire Exclusively Supplies Asia's Largest Endurance GT Race 'Super DQ Series'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hankook Tire & Technology (hereinafter Hankook Tire) announced on the 7th that it will exclusively supply tires to Japan's representative endurance race, the "Super Taikyu Series," starting from the 2021 season and will serve as an official sponsorship partner.
The Super Taikyu Series, which began in 1991, is Japan's premier endurance race and the largest endurance GT event in the Asia region. One of the features of the Super Taikyu Series is the coexistence of race cars and race-tuned production cars. A total of eight classes, including the top ST-X class, ST-TCR and ST-Z classes, and ST-1 through ST-5 classes, feature various models from global premium automakers such as Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. Each season, six rounds of races are held across Japan, including the Fuji 24-hour race.

The 2020 season, which started in September this year, is scheduled to continue until January next year. Hankook Tire will act as the official sponsor and exclusive tire supplier starting from the 2021 season, which marks the 30th anniversary of the event. It plans to supply racing tires that combine durability and driving performance to about 60 participating race vehicles, once again demonstrating its world-class technology and premium brand value.
