According to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family on the 5th, the "Partial Amendment to the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse" is scheduled to be submitted to the Cabinet meeting on the 8th and then implemented.
According to the amended law, the address and actual residence of registered and viewable sex offenders, which were previously disclosed only up to the "eup/myeon/dong" administrative district level, can now be disclosed up to the street address and building number. This also applies to those registered and viewable due to sex crimes committed before 2010.
Additionally, acts of prostitution and inducement or solicitation of prostitution targeting children and juveniles under the age of 16 will be subject to aggravated punishment. Currently, aggravated punishment up to half of the prescribed sentence applies only when the victims are children or juveniles with disabilities.

Due to the legal amendment, from now on, heads and workers of international schools, out-of-school youth support centers, and popular culture and arts planning businesses must immediately report to investigative agencies when they become aware of the occurrence of sex crimes against children and juveniles in the course of their duties. Failure to report or false reporting after knowing the facts will result in a fine of up to 3 million won.
