Naju-si Announces Open Recruitment for 75 Members of the 7th Resident Participatory Budget Committee
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Han-hyuk Lee] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 4th that it will publicly recruit the "7th Resident Participatory Budget Committee" by the 18th to guarantee citizen participation in the budget formulation and execution process and to reflect various citizen opinions.
The composition plan for the 7th committee includes a total of 75 members: 28 general citizens, 26 resident autonomy committee members recommended by the eup/myeon/dong resident autonomy committees, and 21 recommended by citizen, social, professional organizations and institutions. The term of office is from January 1 next year to December 31, 2022.
Anyone residing in Naju City or employees of businesses with headquarters or branches located there can apply or be recommended.
Residents wishing to participate can fill out the application form on the city hall website and submit it via email or mail.
The city will consider diverse participation by region, gender, and professional fields, conduct a document review, and make the final selection by the end of this month.
The Resident Participatory Budget Committee members will directly participate in the budget process by attending basic and advanced budget school courses, deliberative learning on resident participatory budgeting, and prioritizing resident-proposed projects through citizen opinion collection.

Mayor Kang In-gyu said, "We ask for much interest and participation in recruiting Resident Participatory Budget Committee members who will take the lead in realizing fiscal democracy," adding, "We will actively reflect citizen opinions in the budget process, including budget investment directions that meet citizens' perspectives."
