SK Networks Mintit, Campaign to Create Forests through Used Phone Donations 진행
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] SK Networks' used phone recycling brand Mintit is creating a forest together with customers using 'Mintit ATM' located in large supermarkets nationwide.
Mintit announced on the 4th that it will carry out a forest creation campaign to plant up to 4,000 trees in Yeoui Saetgang Ecological Park by utilizing the AI-based unmanned used phone purchasing machine, Mintit ATM.
To this end, Mintit added a 'Forest Creation Campaign' feature to the contactless used phone purchasing machine Mintit ATM. Customers can participate in the campaign by donating their phones after identity verification at about 600 Mintit ATMs located in the three major nationwide large supermarkets and Samsung Digital Plaza.
Mintit has secured a total area of 3,000 pyeong in Yeoui Saetgang Ecological Park and plans to plant up to 4,000 trees by April next year. The used phones collected through the campaign are sent from Mintit ATM to Seongil Hightech, a battery recycling specialist company, and the proceeds from the sale of the phones will be used for forest creation.
A goods event for campaign participants will also be held. Customers who donate used phones at Mintit ATM and upload the 'Certificate of Appreciation' received on their mobile to SNS and verify it will be entered into a draw to receive a 'Mintit Goods Set (3-pin set + phone strap)' for 500 people.
A Mintit official said, "This campaign carries the meaning of creating a sustainable environment together with customers through the small action of 'Mintit right now.'" He added, "We will continue various campaigns and collaborations to create social value that considers the environment and neighbors."
