Yangcheon-gu Opens Integrated Support Center for Families in Crisis in Partnership with Yangcheon Police Station... Crisis Family Management Team Composed of Specialized Personnel Including Abuse Prevention Police Officers, Integrated Case Managers, and Counselors Provides One-Stop Service from Discovery to Follow-Up Management
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) has opened the "Crisis Family Integrated Support Center" (hereinafter referred to as the Integrated Support Center) to more quickly identify and support families in crisis who are in blind spots.
According to the agreement, Yangcheon-gu will oversee the operation of the Integrated Support Center, and the Seoul Yangcheon Police Station will dispatch Abuse Prevention Officers (APO) to establish a close cooperative system. Through the Integrated Support Center, information will be mutually shared to identify families in crisis suffering from violence, abuse, neglect, and other issues, providing one-stop services from initial counseling to integrated case management and post-management through welfare service linkage.
The Integrated Support Center is staffed by four professionals, including ▲Yangcheon-gu integrated case managers ▲Abuse Prevention Officers from the Seoul Yangcheon Police Station ▲counseling experts dispatched from Seoul City, along with two public officials working jointly.
They conduct monitoring and initial counseling with the prior consent of the reporter for households reported to 112 due to domestic violence, and in urgent cases, they carry out home visits and connect the families to specialized institutions.
The district announced that through the Integrated Support Center, it plans to establish a faster support system and systematically provide and manage the necessary services and resources for families in crisis.
The agreement period is one year, from November 27 to November 26, 2021, and unless either party expresses a different intention two weeks before the end of the agreement, it will be automatically extended for one year.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, "Recently, with social distancing emphasized due to COVID-19 and longer time spent at home, the isolation and helplessness of domestic violence victims are increasing." He added, "Through this agreement, Yangcheon-gu and the Seoul Yangcheon Police Station will strengthen the care safety net, identify families in crisis in welfare blind spots, link and support customized integrated services, and make every effort to create a safe Yangcheon-gu free from domestic violence."
