The Democratic Party calls Yoon Seok-yeol's arrest warrant request for 'Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant audit obstruction' a "clear political investigation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] The Democratic Party of Korea criticized on the 2nd the prosecution's request for arrest warrants for public officials involved in deleting internal data of the Wolseong Unit 1 nuclear power plant, calling it a "clear political investigation." Prosecutor General Yoon approved the pre-arrest warrant request for key suspects in the Wolseong nuclear power plant case just two days after returning to duty.
Democratic Party spokesperson Heo Young stated in a press release that day, "The request for arrest warrants immediately after Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's return is a clear political investigation and an abuse of prosecutorial power against the government's legitimate policy."
Spokesperson Heo emphasized, "We deeply regret the reckless actions of the prosecution organization that has lost political neutrality."
