The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Suncheon has reached 173.
Since the 7th of last month, 100 people, including one overseas entrant, have tested positive for COVID-19.
Case number 173 in Suncheon is a resident of Jorye-dong who was classified as a close contact under active monitoring due to contact with a confirmed case related to the Jorye-dong bathhouse. Symptoms appeared on the 28th of last month, and after testing on the 30th, the individual was confirmed positive.
Suncheon City is currently analyzing contacts using CCTV footage, and the movement paths necessary for epidemiological investigation will be disclosed through the city hall website and disaster safety text messages.
A Suncheon City Health Center official stated, "This confirmed case mistook symptom onset for a common cold and tried to receive treatment at a general hospital, but the hospital recommended a COVID-19 test. After testing at the screening clinic, the case was confirmed positive." The official added, "If you have cold or respiratory symptoms, please promptly get tested for COVID-19, and we ask medical institution staff to ensure that suspected cases visiting their facilities are directed to screening clinics for testing."
