Hyundai H Mall Runs 'Hug' Campaign Supporting Abandoned Dogs Until the 31st
The Campaign Aims to Raise Customer Awareness for Protecting Abandoned Dogs
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Hyundai Home Shopping's online comprehensive shopping mall Hyundai H Mall announced on the 1st that it will run the 'HuG Campaign,' a support and adoption promotion program for stray dogs to survive the winter, until the 31st. This is the first time Hyundai H Mall has conducted a stray dog support campaign. 'HuG' is a compound of Hyundai H Mall's 'H,' the customer-representing 'U,' and the 'G' from the English word 'Dog,' meaning that Hyundai H Mall embraces stray dogs with customers' hearts.
First, Hyundai H Mall will donate 3,000 kg of pet food in collaboration with the pet supplies brand 'Bumyeong.' When customers purchase any product regardless of the amount from Hyundai H Mall's pet supplies specialty store (H-PET SHOP), 1 kg of pet food will be automatically donated. The donation is limited to once per person and will be given to the non-profit private organization 'Korea Stray Animal Welfare Association,' which supports the rescue and training of stray animals.
Along with this, a winter scarf donation event for stray dogs will be held in partnership with the pet clothing specialty brand 'Hoono.' The event is customer participation-based. Customers who receive the 'Dog Scarf Making Kit' produced by Hyundai H Mall and Hoono will make scarves themselves and deliver them to the Korea Stray Animal Welfare Association. The scarves delivered to the association will be used to help stray dogs survive the winter and will also be provided to families adopting stray animals, promoting and encouraging stray dog adoption.
Customers wishing to participate in the donation event can apply automatically by leaving a comment on Hyundai H Mall's event page. Hyundai H Mall will select 100 participants to send the dog scarf making kits and will also collect the completed scarves. Additionally, customers who participate in the scarf donation event will receive 3,000 H Points.
Hyundai H Mall decided to support stray dogs because the number of households raising pets is rapidly increasing, and simultaneously, the number of stray dogs is also rising sharply, causing social problems. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, about 102,000 stray dogs were rescued last year, with the number increasing annually.
