Gwangju City Extends Eco-Friendly Vehicle Toll Discount on 2nd Ring Road for 1 Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 30th that it will extend the validity period of the 50% toll discount system for the Second Ring Road, which expires on December 31, by one year.
This measure was implemented following the city council's approval on the 27th as part of efforts to promote the distribution and expansion of eco-friendly vehicles.
The discount applies to vehicles registered in Gwangju City that are electric cars, solar-powered cars, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, or hybrid cars with an engine displacement under 1600cc. Drivers can receive a 50% toll discount by presenting an eco-friendly vehicle discount card issued by the city's Road Department when using the Second Ring Road.
Gwangju City expects that extending the discount period by one year will contribute to reducing fine dust and expanding the adoption of eco-friendly vehicles.
