Tests on contacts of the Gijang-gun confirmed cases No. 12 and 13, which occurred on the 25th and 26th, have all come back negative so far.
According to Gijang-gun on the 27th, out of 52 contacts of confirmed cases No. 12 and 13 who were tested for COVID-19, 49 have been confirmed negative to date. The remaining three are awaiting test results.
The Gijang-gun Infectious Disease Prevention Team has decided to strengthen disinfection and quarantine measures in densely populated areas such as Jeonggwan New Town, Ilgwang New Town, and Gijang-eup, following the movement paths of confirmed cases No. 12 and 13, to establish a thorough quarantine network.
At the COVID-19 daily situation response briefing held at 9 a.m. that day, Gijang-gun Mayor Oh Gyu-seok said, “We must carry out our work with an understanding of the desperate feelings of residents who are anxious due to the confirmed cases in Gijang-gun. Whether contacts test positive or negative, the results must be immediately communicated to residents via disaster text messages.”
Mayor Oh emphasized, “We need to build an even more thorough COVID-19 quarantine network and strengthen on-site inspections and guidance.”
