KT Leads Mutual Growth Through 'New Partner Collaboration'
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] On the 27th, KT presented a new partner collaboration model tailored to the changing business environment due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) at the '2020 Partners Day' held at KT Square in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Now in its 7th year, 'KT Partners Day' is an event where KT and its partners share business directions. This year, the event was held simultaneously in a non-face-to-face format, with about 500 partner companies participating online.
On this day, KT shared partner collaboration plans for the post-COVID era to successfully promote future businesses. First, KT will implement a changed procurement strategy. To stabilize the global supply chain, KT has prepared supply chain management plans for various crisis situations and will implement practical measures including diversification of manufacturers and dual sourcing of key components.
KT also proposed a new collaboration model that coexists with partners. The partner system, which was previously managed by business units, will be transformed into a partner system that can enter all KT business areas. A new collaboration model will be introduced where services and products are created together with partners from the business planning stage and achievements are shared. Additionally, to reduce overseas dependence in the materials, parts, and equipment sectors, KT will invest a total of 9 billion KRW over three years to enhance the technological capabilities of domestic small and medium-sized partner companies.
KT will also support partners' global expansion. KT facilitates export consultations between partners and buyers online and assists partners' global marketing based on KT's overseas bases. Furthermore, KT supports hybrid overseas exhibitions where products are displayed locally overseas and export consultations are supported online from Korea.
In addition, through the opening of big data and cloud open labs, partners can freely use KT's future business platforms, and KT provides consulting and education on related technologies. KT also plans to strengthen communication through sector-specific councils to discover future growth engines and expand business areas.
