'Released in December' Will Jodusun Move Residence... Ansan City's Crime Prevention Measures Inevitably Revised
On the morning of the 13th, police officers from the Ansan Danwon Police Station were inspecting an emergency bell on a security closed-circuit television (CCTV) in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province. View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seul-gi] The family of Jo Doo-soon, an elementary school student kidnapper and sexual assault offender who is scheduled to be released next month on the 13th, is expected to change their residence from the apartment in Ansan City where they currently live to another neighborhood, making it inevitable for the police and Ansan City to revise their crime prevention measures.
According to local sources in Ansan on the 26th, Jo Doo-soon's wife, Mrs. Choi, has reportedly applied to move to another district in a nearby area. If Jo Doo-soon's wife moves, it is expected that Jo Doo-soon will also live there together after his release.
Before his imprisonment, Jo Doo-soon lived with his wife in an apartment in Danwon-gu, Ansan City, and he has stated that he plans to return there after his release.
Previously, the police and Ansan City had prepared to install crime prevention posts centered around the current residence of Jo Doo-soon's wife, where Jo Doo-soon was expected to live, and had concentrated patrol personnel by expanding the installation of high-performance closed-circuit (CC) TVs.
The problem is that if Jo Doo-soon's residence changes, these measures will have to be reorganized centered on his new residence in the future. An official from Ansan City said, "We plan to accurately confirm through the local community service center whether Jo Doo-soon's wife has applied to move to another area and, together with the police, prepare separate security measures for that area."
Accordingly, it is known that Ansan Mayor Yoon Hwa-seop held a countermeasure meeting this morning with Kim Tae-su, Chief of the Ansan Danwon Police Station, and Jeong Seong-su, Director of the Ansan Branch of the Suwon Probation Office. At the meeting, the three organizations agreed to thoroughly continue the citizen safety measures currently being promoted even after Jo Doo-soon's family changes their address.
