Muan-gun Distributes 120,000 Masks to Students
Distribution to Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle, and High School Students
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 25th that it plans to distribute a total of 120,000 protective masks, 10 masks per person, to kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school students in the area to prevent COVID-19 infection.
Starting from the 24th, with the elevation of COVID-19 alert level to 1.5 across all regions of Jeollanam-do and the recent confirmed cases in neighboring areas, masks are being distributed to promote infection prevention and a culture of daily quarantine. The distribution quantities are 25,060 masks for kindergartens, 50,210 for elementary schools, 22,320 for middle schools, and 21,560 for high schools.
In particular, to ensure the safety of examinees taking the 2021 College Scholastic Ability Test, mask distribution will be completed before the exam day on the 3rd of next month in cooperation with the Muan Office of Education.
Muan-gun has been enforcing a mandatory mask-wearing administrative order since September 18th in accordance with government guidelines, and from the 13th, violators are fined 100,000 won.

Kim San, Governor of Muan-gun, said, “Masks are the best vaccine to prevent COVID-19 infection and spread, and we will do our best to implement campaigns to comply with daily quarantine rules,” adding, “We also ask residents to voluntarily wear masks for the sake of their beloved family, relatives, and neighbors.”
