Seoul Reports 133 New COVID-19 Cases... Number Related to Mapo-gu Church Rises to 65

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul has risen again to over 130 after three days since reaching an all-time high.
As of midnight on the 24th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul increased by 133 compared to the previous day. The daily confirmed cases in Seoul reached a record high of 156 on the 20th, then slightly decreased to 121 on the 21st and 112 on the 22nd, but rose again to over 130 on the 23rd, maintaining a three-digit count for six consecutive days. The total cumulative number of confirmed cases has increased to 7,758.
Among the new confirmed cases on this day, 14 additional cases related to Hongdae Saegyo Church in Mapo-gu were reported within a day, bringing the total number of cases linked to this church to 65.
Additionally, six new cases (total 60) were added related to the sauna cluster in Seocho-gu, and 17 new cases (total 22) were reported related to another sauna II cluster in Seocho-gu.
Further confirmed cases continue to emerge, including three cases (total 6) related to a PC bang in Seongdong-gu, two cases (total 17) related to a family in Nowon-gu, one case (total 15) related to a medical institution, one case (total 41) related to an exam preparation academy in Dongjak-gu, and one case (total 66) related to a gym in Gangnam-gu.
Other cases include 41 from contact with confirmed patients, 4 from contact with confirmed patients in other cities or provinces, 1 imported case, and 37 cases with an unknown infection route under investigation.
One additional death was reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Seoul to 87. A total of 6,235 patients have been declared recovered and discharged, while 1,436 patients remain in isolation and treatment.
