“No Youth Delinquency Before and After the Suneung!”
Gyeongnam Province's Monitoring and Crackdown on Harmful Environments for Youth Before and After the CSAT
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gyeongsangnam-do will conduct a joint campaign with related organizations such as city and county offices, police stations, education support offices, and youth harmful environment monitoring groups from the 30th to December 25th for 'Youth Harmful Environment Improvement Activities Before and After the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT)' and 'COVID-19 Regional Infection Prevention.'
This inspection will focus on areas around schools and entertainment districts such as karaoke rooms and PC rooms to prevent the local spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) before the CSAT and to prevent deviant behaviors of youth such as drinking, smoking, and cohabitation with the opposite sex after the CSAT when students are relieved from tension.
Additionally, guidance and crackdowns will be conducted to protect youth and resolve harmful environments, including violations of youth entry and employment bans, selling cigarettes and alcoholic beverages to youth, and whether harmful environment prevention stickers are attached.
Currently, the province has 430 members in 12 harmful environment monitoring groups and about 2,700 youth guidance committee members across all cities and counties working to resolve youth harmful environments.

An official from the province emphasized, “Through the COVID-19 infection prevention campaign targeting high-risk and multi-use facilities frequently visited by youth, we will preemptively block the local spread of COVID-19 before the CSAT, and through youth harmful environment improvement activities, we will continuously cooperate with the public and private sectors to create a healthy and safe environment.”
