Applications for Next Year's First Semester National Scholarship Open Until the 29th of Next Month
Scholarship Support for Income Bracket 8 or Below Starting from Grade B or Higher
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Applications for the national scholarship available for the first semester of next year will begin on the 24th.
The Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation announced on the 23rd that applications for the first round of the 2021 academic year first semester national scholarship will be accepted from tomorrow until 6 p.m. on the 29th of next month.
The national scholarship is an income-linked scholarship provided to university students in income brackets 8 or below who have achieved at least a B grade in the previous semester. The support ranges from 5.2 million KRW to 675,000 KRW annually. However, students from basic livelihood security or near-poverty classes can apply if they have a C grade or higher.
Eligible applicants include currently enrolled students, prospective students, transfer students, re-enrolled students, and returning students. Prospective students include current high school seniors and repeaters.
Applications can be submitted 24 hours a day through the Korea Student Aid Foundation website and mobile application. Since many applicants may access the system on the deadline day, causing possible connection issues, it is advised to apply early.
Applicants must submit review documents and complete consent for providing household member information by 6 p.m. on the 31st. Whether document submission is required can be confirmed 1 to 3 days after application via the foundation’s website and text message notifications.
