View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Yoon Jae-gap, a member of the National Assembly's Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, Food, and Maritime Affairs Committee (Democratic Party of Korea, Haenam-Wando-Jindo), announced on the 23rd that Haenam County has been selected for the '2021 Agricultural Food Voucher Pilot Project,' securing a total of 2.1 billion KRW, including 1.068 billion KRW in national funds.
The 'Agricultural Food Voucher Pilot Project' is a program introduced to supply fresh and high-quality food to support balanced nutrition and dietary needs for vulnerable groups, promote the consumption of agricultural and livestock products, and revitalize the farming economy.
The support targets 3,879 households in Haenam with a median income of 50% or less, providing electronic vouchers equivalent to 40,000 KRW for single-person households, 57,000 KRW for two-person households, 69,000 KRW for three-person households, and 80,000 KRW for households of four or more, over a period of 12 months.
The vouchers can be used at local food direct stores or regional Nonghyup Hanaro Marts within the area to purchase domestic vegetables, milk, eggs, and other products.

Assemblyman Yoon Jae-gap said, "This pilot project is expected to simultaneously achieve two goals: supporting the household economy of vulnerable groups and promoting the consumption of local agricultural products." He added, "We will continue to pursue related policies to improve food welfare for the residents of Haenam."
