BTS 'Life Goes On' MV Reaches 100 Million Views in Two Days
Warmly Portraying the Daily Lives and Wishes of Young People Amid the Pandemic
The music video for the new song "Life Goes On" by the group BTS surpassed 100 million views just two days after its release.
Released on the 20th to coincide with the launch of their new album "BE," the video exceeded 100 million views on YouTube by the afternoon of the 22nd. Directed by Jungkook, it warmly depicts the daily lives and hopes of young people during the pandemic, resonating deeply with viewers. The desire to connect with the outside world is expressed through imagery such as a bicycle seat covered in fine dust and a car passing through a tunnel. The members also gaze calmly at places like the Jamsil Olympic Main Stadium where they performed in the past, reminiscing about earlier days. Singing against the backdrop of empty seats, they wish for the current situation to be resolved.
On the 22nd, BTS also released the "On My Pillow" version of the "Life Goes On" music video on their official social media channels. In this video, the members sit on a bed singing, evoking the everyday life during the pandemic. Dressed in pajamas, they sit around the bed, taking pictures of each other and playfully hitting each other with pillows.
BTS is also creating a unique version of the music video together with their fandom, ARMY. The day before, they launched the "#LifeGoesOn" challenge on the short-form mobile video platform TikTok. Unlike the usual dance challenges based on choreography, this challenge invites participants to reinterpret "Life Goes On" in their own way.
Jin, the first participant, drew a flipbook that reveals an animation when pages are flipped, depicting the sun setting and rising again. RM showed himself writing the titles of songs from the "BE" album on fallen leaves. Some of the videos submitted for the challenge will be compiled into the ARMY version of the "Life Goes On" music video, which will be released on the 30th of next month.
