Tomorrow, Seoul and Central Regions Below Freezing... Temperatures Drop Over 10 Degrees
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] On Monday the 23rd, cold air from the northwest is expected to descend, cooling the ground surface overnight and causing cold temperatures.
The inland areas of central regions and North Gyeongsang Province are expected to see morning temperatures drop by more than 10 degrees compared to the previous day, with most of the central region forecasted to record subzero temperatures.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) announced a cold wave advisory to be issued at 11 p.m. on the 22nd. The KMA urged, "Strong winds will make the perceived temperature even lower, so please take note of the cold wave effects and be especially careful to manage your health and prevent damage to facilities."
The morning low temperatures are forecasted to range from -6 to 7 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs from 5 to 14 degrees Celsius. The entire country will be mostly clear, but from dawn to daytime, the Jeolla West Coast and Jeju Island will have increased clouds with some areas experiencing raindrops.
On the northern East Coast of Gangwon Province, a little rain is expected at dawn due to easterly winds, and in the northern mountainous areas of Gangwon where temperatures are low, some snow flurries may occur. Expected precipitation is less than 5 mm.
Fine dust levels are expected to be between 'Good' and 'Moderate' across all regions.
Strong winds of 9 to 13 meters per second will blow along the West Coast and the western coast of Jeju Island, and high waves caused by swells may overflow rocky shores or breakwaters on the East Coast, so special caution is advised to prevent safety accidents.
