According to the British Daily Mail on the 21st (local time), Jade Brinkatt, who lives in Sydney, Australia, held a wedding ceremony on the 18th in a hospital room with her cohabiting boyfriend Dan Horton, who fell into a coma due to a fatal traffic accident.
On the 7th, Horton was pinned under a car during work, severely injuring his neck, back, and upper body, and suffered a cardiac arrest at the scene, leading to an emergency transfer to the hospital. He remained unconscious after being transported.
Horton and Brinkatt first met around the age of 30, fell in love, and had been living together for a year and a half, promising a future together. They were also expecting a daughter soon. Brinkatt, who was pregnant, was shocked by the news of her boyfriend’s accident and showed symptoms of preeclampsia, leading to an emergency cesarean section on the 11th.
On the 18th, Brinkatt held a small wedding ceremony with Horton and their newborn daughter. She pledged respect, love, and loyalty to Horton beside his hospital bed, promising to remain married forever.
In a coma, Horton could neither hold nor look at his daughter and wife. Ultimately, Horton passed away on the 19th, just one day after their wedding.
In an interview with foreign media, Brinkatt said, "I never once thought I wouldn’t become his wife. The 550 days I spent with Horton have already become my everything, and the memories of him will remain forever in my and my daughter’s minds. Horton, I will love you forever and hope you rest in peace."
