Imported Car Association Selects Professor Choi Hoimyeong of Gachon University for KAIDA Academic Award
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) announced on the 20th that Professor Choi Hoimyeong of Gachon University has been selected for the 5th KAIDA Academic Award.
On the 19th, the Import Car Association held the award ceremony for the 5th KAIDA Academic Award at Jeju Shinhwa World, where the '2020 Autumn Conference of the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers' was taking place. Vice Chairman Lim Hangyu of the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association attended the ceremony and presented the award to Professor Choi.
The KAIDA Academic Award is part of an industry-academia cooperation program and has been awarded since 2016 to authors of outstanding papers published in the Korean-language journal of the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers. The selection process involves the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers Fund Award Selection Committee evaluating papers published in the Korean journal based on quality and industrial contribution, selecting one outstanding paper author. The Import Car Association provides the award and prize money to the selected author.
Additionally, the Import Car Association is conducting the KAIDA industry-academia cooperation program with 12 universities that operate automotive major departments to foster excellent talent in the automotive maintenance field.
Vice Chairman Lim said, "We are pleased that the association can contribute to the development of the automotive industry by supporting and encouraging excellent papers," and added, "Going forward, the Import Car Association and its member companies will continue to strive to fulfill their social responsibilities as a key pillar leading the domestic automotive industry."
