Muan-gun Pursues and Collects from High-Amount and Habitual Local Tax Delinquents to the End
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 18th that it has disclosed the list of 62 high-amount and habitual local tax delinquents on the county website and the Jeollanam-do website. The total amount of delinquent taxes is 2.3 billion KRW.
The disclosure targets are those whose local taxes (including deficits) have been overdue for more than one year from the date of occurrence as of January 1st, with an amount of 10 million KRW or more.
The disclosed information includes name, age, occupation, address, amount owed, and tax items. Those who have paid 30% or more of the delinquent amount or are currently filing appeals such as lawsuits are excluded.
Among the disclosed delinquents, the corporation with the largest delinquent amount is real estate company W Corporation, which has not paid 168 million KRW including local income tax (corporate income tax), and the individual with the largest delinquent amount is Mr. P, residing in Mongtan-myeon, who owes 79 million KRW including local income tax.
A county official stated, "Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and flood damage, many taxpayers have lost their ability to pay, making local tax collection difficult. However, we will relentlessly pursue and collect from tax evaders to ensure stable financial resources."
